Patricia “Patsy” Ann (Murphy) Grindle of Lonaconing, Maryland, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2022 at Egle Nursing and Rehab Center in Lonaconing. Born July 7, 1935, in Lonaconing she was the daughter of the late Oliver N. Murphy and M. Christina “Teenie” (Nicol) Murphy.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 45 years, George Grindle, Jr.
Patsy was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Lonaconing, where she sang in the choir and spent much of her free time. She was also a member of Morning Star Temple #1 Pythian Sisters, Lonaconing, since 1987 and was highly active in the Central Alumni. As a registered nurse, she began her career at Memorial Hospital in Cumberland. She also worked in a nursing home in New Jersey, and then at Sacred Heart Hospital in Cumberland in Pediatrics when her family relocated back to Lonaconing. She retired as a staff nurse from Egle Nursing and Rehab Center in 2000.
Surviving are her three children, Mark Grindle and partner Krista McGowan of Bel Air, Cumberland, Lynn Bagley and husband Dr. Rod Bagley of Stanhope, IA, and G. Todd Grindle of State College, PA; four grandchildren, Joshua Bagley and wife Sara of Vienna, Austria, Jessica Bagley and husband Chris Holley of Vancouver, WA, Jordan Bagley of Perry, IA, and Jade Grindle of Lovettsville, VA and several cousins.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, December 19, 2022, from 4:00-7:00 PM at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing. Morning Star Temple #1 Pythian Sisters will hold a memorial service at 6:30 PM. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Marjorie Hurder-Buhrman officiating. Interment will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills.
