Wilbert Thomas Broadwater, 84, of Bethel Drive, Lonaconing died Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Egle Nursing Home. Born on February 25, 1935 in Lonaconing he was the son of the late Harry Broadwater and Blanche (Beeman) Broadwater.
Wilbert was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, Lonaconing where he was a Deacon of the Church, Sunday school teacher and also led song services. He also enjoyed pitching in the church softball league. In his spare time he would play guitar and sing, throw horseshoes, complete woodworking projects and riding his motorcycle. Christmas was a joyous time for him; he was so proud of his Christmas light display and found happiness in putting them up. He was 1954 graduate of Valley High School and retired from Westvaco Corporation.
He is survived by his beloved wife Eloise Broadwater; three children Tom Broadwater and wife Brenda, Terry Broadwater and Brenda Spencer; eight grandchildren Jason, Thomas, Jesse, Kayla, Megan, Chance, Shauna and Vinnie; fifteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; three brothers Clarence Broadwater and wife Sue, Leo Broadwater and wife Michelle and Eugene Broadwater and wife Peggy and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at the First Assembly of God Church, Lonaconing on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Gregg Georg and Pastor Shawn Shumaker officiating. Family and friends will be received at the church one hour prior to the service from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing is assisting the family.
