Wendell Wilhelm

Wendell Scott “Scotty” Wilhelm, 73, formerly of Lonaconing, passed away on December 27, 2017 at his home in Keedysville, MD. Scotty was born on November 5, 1944 in Lonaconing to the late Scott Olin Wilhelm and Laura (Durst) Wilhelm.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Carol Beeman, Marilyn Muir and Beverly Moler and two brothers, Larry Wilhelm and Darrell “Chewy” Wilhelm.

He was a graduate of Valley High School and a member of the First United Methodist Church, Lonaconing. Scotty retired from the Finan Center after 20 years of service. He lived in Fresno, CA for 10 years with his oldest sister. While in California, Scotty enjoyed gardening, sitting on the patio and the monthly get together of the Lunch Bunch.

He also enjoyed baseball games, spending time with family and sending greeting cards to friends and family.

He is survived by three brothers, Stephen Wilhelm and wife Patty of Fredericksburg, VA, Michael D. Wilhelm an d Karen Getson of Lonaconing and Roger Wilhelm and wife Sharon of Lonaconing; two sisters-in-law, Gladys Wilhelm of Lonaconing, Carolyn Wilhelm of Hagerstown; brother-in-law, Bill Beeman of Barton and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Tue sday, January 2, 2017 from 5PM-8 PM at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church, Lonaconing with Rev. Heerak Kim officiating. Interment will be held at the United Church of Christ Cemetery, New Germany, MD.
