Vitalis E. Darr, 89, formerly of Bartlett Run Road, Barton died Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at the Egle Nursing and Rehab Center, Lonaconing. Born on August 5, 1923 in Piedmont, WV she was the daughter of the late Arthur "Slim" Henry and Rosalie (Riley) Henry.
She was preceded in death by her husband Roger Allen Darr on April 5, 1981, twin infant daughters Mary and Marie, one son James Darr and two brothers Donald Henry and William Henry and wife Peg.
She is survived by her children, Jenny Walker and husband Bob of New Creek, Jeannie Burley and husband Gary of Cresaptown, Margie Broadwater of Lonaconing, Kathy Lee and husband Bobby of Barton, William Darr of Mechanicsville, Roger Darr of Lonaconing and David "Punky" Darr also of Lonaconing; six grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and one niece.
A graveside service will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills on Friday, December 7, 2012 at 11:00 AM with Rev. George Harpold officiating. Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing (www.eichhornmckenzie.com) handled the arrangements.
