Simone Moore

Simone Alice Moore, 89, of Seldom Seen Road, Lonaconing died Sunday, December 24, 2017 at her residence, surrounded by her family. Born on June 24, 1928 in France, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Alice Goveart.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Don Moore; two children, Raymond Moore and Vivian Moore and siblings, Albert, George, Charlotte and Yolanda.

Simone was a French war bride; having met her beloved husband Harold in France during WWII.

She was a homemaker and she loved having people come to her home. She enjoyed baking and cooking for her family. Simple pleasures, like gardening and canning, made her happy.

She is survived by her daughter, Cecelia Leatherman and husband Harold of Barton; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Moore of Lonaconing; six grandchildren, Connie Green and husband Marc, Brenda Reese and Marc Young, Donald Moore and wife Julie, Kevin Leatherman and wife Susan, Amy Krumpach and husband Jim and Mike Moore and wife Melissa; eleven great-grandchildren,  Trevor, Zach and Madison Green, Owen and Aaryn Reese,  Britni and Bradie Moore, Brycen and Ryan Krumpach and Simon and Mason Moore; a sister, Cecelia Witwichi of France and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, December 28, 2017 from Noon-3 PM at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing. A funeral service will immediately follow at 3:00 PM with Rev. Alexa Smith officiating. Interment will be held at Mt. View Cemetery, Moscow Mills.
