Ruth Ann Wilson

Ruth Ann Wilson, 77, of Midland died Sunday, January 10, 2021 after a 7 year bout with cancer at UPMC Western Maryland.  Born August 12, 1943 in Frostburg she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Irene (Loar) Robertson.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Wilson; one sister, Maxine Brodie and one brother, John Robertson.

Ruth Ann was Methodist by faith.  She was a 1961 graduate of Beall High School and went on to work at Celanese Corporation.  When her daughters were born she retired to raise them.  Ruth Ann was the 1961 Athlete of the Year at Beall High School and was well known for her softball talents in the area.  She enjoyed playing Keno and socializing at Midland Fire Hall and watching her grandchildren’s sporting events.

She is survived by two daughters, Teri McAlpine and husband Brian and Tracy Wilson; two grandchildren, Loren and Landon McAlpine; one brother-in-law, Creade Brodie Sr. and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received from 2:00PM-4:00PM and 6:00PM-8:00PM on Wednesday January 13, 2021 at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home P.A., Midland.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Thursday January 14, 2021 at the funeral home with Pastor Thomas Morgan officiating.  Interment will be at Vale Summit Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Creade Brodie Jr., Creade Brodie III, Jeff Phillips, Shane Phillips, Austin Ferree and Braxten Brodie.  Creade Brodie Sr. will serve as honorary pallbearer.

Due to the restrictions of the Covid-19 virus, face masks and practicing safe social distancing will be required.
