Ruth Llewellyn

Mary “Ruth” Fazenbaker Llewellyn died March 14, 2019 at Egle Nursing Home. Ruth was born on August 17, 1926, the oldest child of the late DelBeth (Miller) and Delbert Fazenbaker.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years Everett Llewellyn, one sister Elsie Grace Creegan and three brothers Lee Fazenbaker, Louie Fazenbaker and Grover Fazenbaker.

Ruth graduated from Central High School and Frostburg State Teachers College. She taught kindergarten for many years at Central and Barton Elementary Schools. She retired from the new Barton Elementary School in 1986. Ruth was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lonaconing. She was organist and pianist for many church activities. She also taught Sunday school and bible school at her church. She was a wonderful example of a Christian woman; she touched many lives, young and old with her faithfulness to God.

She is survived by her children Tom Llewellyn, Ed Llewellyn and wife Margie and Jim Llewellyn and wife Kathy; seven grandchildren Kevin and wife Mel, Missy and Ben, Jesse, Jeremy, Justin and Sam, Brittany and Doug; great-grandchildren Ethan and Dravin; one sister Delberta Schramm and one brother Ellie Fazenbaker.

A celebration of life will be held at the family farm on Jackson Mt. Road on Sunday at 2:00 PM. Inurnment will be held at Mountain View Cemetery at a later date. Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing assisted the family.
