Robert Marshall Clarke, Sr.

Robert Marshall Clarke, Sr., 85, of Jones Court, Frostburg died Thursday, January 29, 2026 at UPMC Western Maryland, Cumberland. Born on October 25, 1940 at home in Midland, he was the son of the late Marshall Alexander Clarke and Alfreeda Justine (Davis) Clarke.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Christine Mary (Clarke) Spiker and three siblings, Thomas John Clarke, James William Clarke, and Betty Eileen (Clarke) Preston.

Robert was a 1958 graduate of Valley High School and a retiree of WestVaco, where he supervised the receiving and stores department. He was an avid genealogist, traveling all over the tri-state area to cemeteries and courthouses.

He is survived his beloved wife of 65 years, Nellie (Boettcher) Clarke; two children, Roberta M. Clarke of Cumberland and Robert Marshall Clarke, Jr. and wife Sherry of New Market; two grandchildren, Robert Marshall Clarke, III and John Carl Clarke; two sisters, Carol Sue (Clarke) Martin and husband Eugene and Linda Kay (Clarke) Brown and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, February 2, 2026 from 12-1 PM at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM. Private interment will take place at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Cumberland.
