Rick “Gummy” Warnick

January 7, 1961 — February 17, 2021

Rick “Gummy” Robert Warnick, 60, of Lonaconing, died February 17, 2021 at UPMC Western Maryland after a long-fought battle with pancreatic cancer.  Born January 7, 1961, he was the son of the late Robert and Elizabeth (Robinette) Warnick.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Renee Warnick.

Rick was a 1979 graduate of Valley High School.  He went on to become a coal miner and then a heavy equipment operator in the coal industry.  He worked for Tom and Elaine Clise for many years and then finished his last years with Jody and Faith Ritchie.  He loved work and came home every day with a smile on his face.  Rick was an avid hunter and went every chance he could.  He took two of his grandchildren on youth days as well as other kids throughout the years, one being Brittany Shockey.  He also loved to fish when he could and was just talking about getting fishing gear ready for March.  Rick had many friends he thought the world of and they thought the world of him.  He would give the shirt off his back if anyone needed anything.  He will live forever in our hearts.

He leaves behind his devoted wife of 40 years, Tina (Foote) Warnick; two daughters, Jennifer Warnick and Dave Whiteman and Jessica Wilt and husband Tom; four grandchildren, Sydney Kerns and husband Will, Evan Robertson, Hunter Robertson and Tommy Wilt; one step-granddaughter, Shyan Wilt.  He was a loving and generous father and grandfather.  He also leaves behind one uncle, Bill Robinette and wife Ruthie; one mother-in-law, Christine Foote; two brothers-in-law, Jamie Foote and Mike Foote; one sister-in-law, Dina Creegan and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

At his request he was cremated and inurnment will be held at a later date.  Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home P.A. assisted with the arrangements.
