Phyllis Donald

Phyllis Blair Donald, 94, a residence of Frostburg Heights Apartments, formerly of Gilmore, died Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Frostburg Village Nursing Home. Born on March 7, 1918 in Midland she was the daughter of the late James G. and Pearl (Stevenson) Blair.

She was preceded in death by her husband Carl F. Donald, one son Phillip M. "Marty" Donald, daughter-in-law Carol Donald and her brother Thomas S. Blair.

She was a graduate of Central High School, Lonaconing, MD and was a member of the Midland Grace United Methodist Church, Midland, MD where she had been very active in the Methodist Women's Society. She was also a member of the Lonaconing Senior Citizens, Lonaconing, MD  where she had been secretary for several years. She enjoyed sports very much, especially professional baseball and football.

She is survived by her son, Carl J. Donald and wife Ruth (Deniker) Donald of Braddock Heights, MD; three grandchildren, Jerry Donald and wife Beverly of Braddock Heights, MD, Seth Donald and wife Faith of Mercersburg, PA and Amy Donald of Hagerstown, MD; eight great-grandchildren, Blair, Molly, Brooke, Aaron, Adam, Lexi, Aaron and Charisma; sister-in-law Bette Blair of Frostburg and a niece and nephew,Jill Blair of Durham, NC and Robert Blair of Oklahoma City, OK.

Family and Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home P.A. ( www.eichhornmckenzie.com ), Midland on Sunday, April 15, 2012 from 2-4 PM.  A funeral service will be held at Midland Grace United Methodist Church, Midland, MD on Monday, April 16, 2012 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Fred Iser officiating. Family and friends will be received at the church one hour prior to the service at 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM. Interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland, MD.

Pallbearers will be Don Blair, Dick Blair, Jerry Donald, Seth Donald, Tom Coleman and Charlie Muir.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church at 19915 Church Street, Midland, MD 21532.
