Phyllis Cullen

Midland, MD

Phyllis Ann (Ravenscroft) Cullen,70, passed Saturday December 19, 2015 at her home in Midland. Born on October 14,1945 she was the daughter of the late Wilson Ravenscroft  and Annabelle (McKinlay) Ravenscroft.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis J. Cullen; three brothers, Hubert Warnick, Billy Warnick and Tommy Ravenscroft; three sisters, Jenny Rae Warnick, Jean Ravenscroft and Jane Winters and two sisters-in-law, Judy Ravenscroft and Marie Warnick.

She is survived by two sons, Kevin Cullen of Midland and Jamie Cullen and wife Rose also of Midland; four grandchildren,  Lynn, Madeline, Anna and Jackson all of Midland; three brothers,   John Ravenscroft of Midland, Robert Ravenscroft and wife Julia of Williston, SC and  Jimmy Ravenscroft and wife Cathy of Augusta, GA; one brother-in-law Bob Winters of Midland and numerous nieces and nephews.

Phyllis was a lifetime member of the Midland Firemen's Ladies Auxiliary, serving as President for many years and Past-President of the Allegany/Garrett County Volunteer Fire & Rescue Association Ladies Auxiliary, serving from 2002-2003.  She was also a member of the St. Joseph's Sodality.

Phyllis will be remembered by many as a fantastic cook and baker. She was employed for many years as a baker for Tommy's Market in Cumberland.  Catered many receptions, dinners and events for the Midland Fire Hall and was the cook for St. Michael's School in Frostburg for several years.

She was a loving wife, sister, mother and grandmother.  Her grandkids loved their G'ma Phyllis and will miss her dearly.

In accordance with her wishes, her body was donated to science through the Maryland Anatomy Board's Body Donation Program.

A memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 11:00am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Midland, MD with Father Ed Hendricks as celebrant.  Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A. Midland assisted the family.

Her family would like to thank the WMHS Hospice nurses and aids and sitter Brenda Spencer for the excellent care she received, enabling her to remain at home as she wished.  In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Phyllis may be made to the Midland Volunteer Fire Company or St. Joseph Church, Midland.
