Norma Daniels

August 1, 1931 — March 15, 2014

Norma Jean Daniels 82 of Lonaconing went home with her loving lord and savior Jesus Christ on Saturday March 15, 2014 at Western Maryland Health System.

She was born August 1, 1931 in Lonaconing, MD to the late Daniel T. and Agnes (Thompson) Nightingale.  She was proceeded in death by her parents and her brothers Paul and Bob Nightingale.

She was a member of the Frostburg Church of the Brethren. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her great-grandson Draven.  She loved hearing stories about and spending time with all of her friends and family.  She was well known for her delicious peanut butter fudge and amazing cooking.  Everyone would gather at Nana’s for Sunday dinners because everything that she made was the best, she also enjoyed the time that was spent with everyone and she enjoyed cooking for us.

She is survived by her best friend and beloved husband of fifty-six years, Charles E. Daniels of Lonaconing.  She is also survived by her daughter Tammie L. Blair of Midland.  Her grandchildren Rick Blair and fiancé Anna of Frostburg, Chuck Blair and wife Melanie of Trenton, Ontario Canada, Shawnda Blair and boyfriend Justin Keller of Midland and Shaela Blair of Lonaconing.  She is also survived by her great-grandson and light of her life Draven Blair.  As well as her step great-grandchildren Michael Smith of Trenton, Ontario Canada, CJ Faith of Mt. Savage, Daniel Swindle and Keana Via of Frostburg, whom she all loved greatly.  She is also survived by her sisters Shirley Smith of Barton, and Louise Hott of Cumberland, and brothers William Nightingale of Frostburg, Danny Nightengale and wife Millie of LaVale, Woody Nightingale and Jack Nightingale and wife Emma of Lonaconing. Her sister-in-laws Sharon Nightengale of Lonaconing and Shirley Nightingale of Fayetteville North Carolina.  Her goddaughter Paula Nightingale and husband Todd and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.  She will be greatly missed by all.

The family would like to thank Dr. Poonai, Dr. Zaman, Dr. Watkins, Dr. Schmitt, Dr. Ranjithan, Dr. Chisholm, and the nurses in the progressive care unit and 7 south, for the care that our beloved had received.

At her request her body will be cremated.  There will be no viewing. Family and friends will be received at the First Presbyterian Church, Lonaconing on Saturday, March 22, 2014 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM. A memorial service will immediately follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Thomas Morgan and Pastor Mark Durst officiating. Inurnment will be held at Frostburg Memorial Park at a later date. Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing handled the arrangements.
