Nellie Broadwater

Nellie Jane Broadwater, 87, of Pekin Street, died Friday, October 19, 2018 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland.  Born on July 26, 1931 in Franklin she was the daughter of the late John Howard O’Haver and Rosa Edna (Broadwater) O’Haver.

She was preceded in death by six of her siblings Donna Lee Michaels, Jim O’Haver, Mary Speelman, Olin O’Haver, Wilma Jean Warnick and Anna Colmer.

She attended Bethel Holiness Church, Lonaconing. She was a graduate of Bruce High School and had worked as a custodian at Sussex Elementary School. She loved to dance and party. She enjoyed country music and playing the spoons and  washboard. Nellie always had a good time.

She is survived by five children Robert “Bob” Broadwater and wife Barb of Pennsylvania, Paul Broadwater and Mary of Baltimore, Lewis “Ed” Broadwater of Pennsylvania, Vivian Elliott and fiancé Larry Lewis of Pennsylvania and Joyce Miller of Nikep;  six grandchildren Billy Miller, Jennifer Miller, Ronnie Miller, Dana Hickman, Eddie Broadwater and Bobby Broadwater; eight great-grandchildren Roman Willis, Damien Miller, Danika Miller, Lewis Broadwater III, Aliesha Hicks, Chloe Broadwater, Faith Broadwater and Shelby Marie Hickman; one brother Francis O’Haver and wife Deloris of Crossville, TN; one sister Doris Whiteman and husband Phil of Swanton and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 from 2-4PM and 7-9PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 11:00AM with Rev. Charles Winebrenner officiating. Interment will be held at Mt. View Cemetery, Moscow Mills.

Pallbearers will be Mike O’Haver, Larry Lewis, Harry Kubilius, Billy Miller, Bobby Broadwater and Eddie Broadwater.
