Lois R. Hadley, 96, of Lonaconing, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Egle Nursing and Rehab Center in Lonaconing. Born November 2, 1929, in Lonaconing, she was the daughter of the late Peter Marshall and Mary Jane (Eilbeck) Marshall.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Jake” Hadley; her son, Marshall Hadley; and her companion, Bob Green.
Lois was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lonaconing and a graduate of Central High School. She was a longtime business owner in the town, owning and operating Coney Capri Beauty Salon on Main Street for more than 30 years. She began the business around 1967 and retired in 2000 at the age of 70.
Lois enjoyed her retirement traveling with her family, spending time in Florida, and visiting destinations across the United States and Mexico. In her later years, she shared a special bond and companionship with Bob Green.
She is survived by two sons, Gary Hadley and wife Sharon of Lonaconing, and Steven Hadley and wife Theresa of Melbourne, Florida; a daughter-in-law, Sherry Hadley of Lonaconing, widow of Marshall Hadley; five grandchildren, Nicholas Hadley and wife Holli, David Hadley, Todd Hadley and wife Kellie, Eric Hadley and wife Alline, and Kayla DeBenedittis and husband Ryan; five great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Simon, Sophia, Harry, and Declan; a sister, Dorothy Ann Clarke of Michigan, widow of William Clarke; a sister-in-law, Betsy Hadley of Colorado, widow of Joseph Hadley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 12 to 1 p.m. at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing. A funeral service will follow immediately at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Bernadette Ross officiating. Interment will be held at Frostburg Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Nicholas Hadley, David Hadley, Todd Hadley, Eric Hadley, John Muir, and Charles Muir.
