Leona “Maxine” (Hyde) Metts, 77, of Midland died peacefully on October 22, 2016. She leaves behind her loving and devoted husband of 59 years, Marvin “Moe” Metts, Sr. Maxine was born May 1, 1939, a daughter of the late Rodney and Philadelphia (Hunt) Hyde.
Her oldest child, Mike Metts and his first wife Alphrosine “Sine” preceded her in death.
Maxine was a 1957 graduate of Beall High School, Frostburg. She was member of the Midland Grace United Methodist Church.
Maxine is survived by five children, Mark (Judy) Metts of Midland, Marvin (Joyce Hansford) Metts of Midland, Mitch (Linda) Metts of Lonaconing, Molly (Kevin Cullens) Arnold of Midland and Matthew (Sherry) Metts of Finzel; two siblings, Rodney Hyde and Judy Matthews and a daughter-in-law, Andrea Dicken-Metts.
Maxine also leaves behind several grandchildren, Jessica, Cliff, Jarred, Jeffrey, Caitlin, Gracie and Audrey; great-grandchildren, Bentley, Macie, Faith and Ashlin and several step-grandchildren.
Maxine’s wishes were to be cremated and no services will be held. Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Midland assisted the family. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.wilhelmeakin.com.
