Lennie Mae Phillips

Lennie Mae Phillips, 83, of Old Beechwood Road, Lonaconing died, Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at UPMC Western Maryland, Cumberland. Born on August 11, 1940 in Lonaconing, she was the daughter of the late David and Lennie Mae (Pifer) Steele.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arland Phillips on March 29, 2014 and her siblings, David Steele, Elmer Pifer, George Steele, Edward Steele, Raymond Steele, Susan Hauser and Mildred Beeman. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Lennie had worked for at Valley High School in the custodial department but she was always a homemaker at heart. She was lovingly known to all as “Aunt Mae” and was a caretaker to all. She attended the First Assembly of God.

She is survived by her son, David Phillips; two grandsons, James and William; numerous nieces and nephews, including a special great-niece, Lennie Fresh and two special great-great-great-nieces, Myra and Briauna with whom she resided. She also leaves behind her kitties, Precious and Lily.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 2-3 PM at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing. A funeral service will immediately follow at 3:00 PM with Pastor Shawn Shumaker officiating.
