Karen Fazenbaker, 75, of New Georges Creek Road, Frostburg, went to be with the Lord on July 24, 2026 at Egle Nursing and Rehab Center. Born on December 21, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Charles Bowman and Mary (Shuttleworth) Bowman.

Karen was a graduate of Northern Garrett Highschool and she furthered her education at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh. She worked as graphic designer until her family grew and she took time to raise her daughters and take care of her home. She and her husband, David, attended the Assembly of God Church for 15 years, where she enjoyed not only being part of the congregation but also playing the piano. She then attended the LaVale Baptist Church.

Karen had a very kind, loving, and welcoming presence. Always wearing a smile, giving a hug, and reaching out to help those in need. She was a giver with a huge heart, and her grandchildren were the light of her life. Attending their many sporting events and just visiting with them brought her so much joy. Love was a language she never failed to express, up until the end of her life, when words escaped her, hugs, kisses, and of course her constant smile allowed her personality to always shine through.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, David Fazenbaker; two daughters, Mindy Crowe and husband, Josh of Fort Ashby and, Kristi DeLeurere and husband, Lawrence of Morgantown; five grandkids, Deasah, Wesley, Caleb, Elizabeth, and Hannah; one great-granddaughter, Harley; two sisters, Linda Niederberger and husband, Allan, and Kim Brady and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, July 31, 2026 from 12-2 PM at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jim Jeffries officiating. Interment will take place at Rocky Gap Cemetery, Flintstone.

The family would like to thank the staff and facility of Egle Nursing and Rehab Center for the kindness and care given to Karen during her stay and for always sharing with family Karen’s beautiful, never ceasing smile.

At the request of the family memorial donations may be made in honor of Karen to the Egle Activities Fund at 57 Jackson Street, Lonaconing, MD 21539.

We know she’s now in the hands of the Lord.
