Jean Lorene Parker, 90, of Midland died Saturday, November 5, 2016 at her home. Born on January 14, 1926 in Piedmont, WV she was the daughter of the late Burr Shillingburg and Ruth (Reynolds) Shillingburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband and best friend of 64 years, Donald W. Parker, one sister Joyce Broadwater and husband Donald and a brother Robert “Burr” Shillingburg and wife Jeannie.
Jean was a wonderful mom, mother-in-law, granny and friend to all. She was a housewife who had her hands full with her two sons and neighborhood boys. She was a member of Midland Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary for over 60 years. Jean was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Midland.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Keith Parker and wife Elaine of Westfield, IN and Steven William Parker and wife Cheryl of Carlos, MD; one grandson, Taylor Parker of Carlos, MD and two granddaughters, Keisha Parker and husband Tony of Las Vegas, NV, and Amber Parker Hoffman and husband Russ of Charleston, SC; two great-granddaughters Rilyn Parker Hoffman and Kylee Quinn Hoffman of Charlestown, SC; her loving granddog Gracie Parker of Carlos; a special niece Carolyn Miller; a special nephew Randy Broadwater and wife Cindy; extra special “family” Joy and Bump Raynor and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at the Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Midland on Thursday, November 10, 2016 from 2-4PM. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 4:00PM with Rev. George Harpold officiating.
The family would like to thank everyone who helped us take care of Jean in the past year, Joy and Bump Raynor, Helen and Mike Weddle, Delores Morgan, Shannon Switzer and Beth Holly. We would also like to thank Pastor Daniel Montague, who has been a frequent visitor and she loved him coming. Also thanks to the Frostburg Village Horizon Unit and to Dr. Nallin for all his special care, she loved him dearly.
