James “Jim” Edward Winebrenner, 80 of Barton, took his final breath and went to be with the Lord on June 14, 2025 surrounded by his wife and children.
Born December 15, 1944 in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Charles Joseph Winebrenner and Anna Jane (Imler) Winebrenner. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Maryann and his faithful dog Rusty, who he shared an incredible bond with.
Jim graduated from Mount Savage High School Class of 1962. He served his country in the US Army from 1965 to 1968 receiving an honorable discharge. Jim was employed by Orts Bakery from 1962 until it was closed and later for Orts Fibred Company, which he retired from.
Jim is survived by his devoted loving wife, Dottie, of 47 years. He leaves behind his children, James Winebrenner, Doug (Shannon) Winebrenner, Kristy Winebrenner and Jennifer (Bill) Hunt; grandchildren, Kaelee, Gage, Maddi, Audrey, Abby, Alex, and William, plus two great-grandchildren, Rhett and Beckett; his brother Chuck (Ruthann) Winebrenner and his sister, Vickie Bennett, along with beloved nieces and nephews.
He was an avid fisherman, huntsman and gardener, to which he passed down his knowledge and skills to his children. From many years of camping, to playing games or just sitting on the porch watching the birds he enjoyed every moment he got to spend with his family. He was always quick to lend a helping hand or a listening ear in times of need.
It was Jim's desire to be cremated and a celebration of life with his family and close friends will be held at a later date. Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing is assisting the family.
