Harriet Ann Moran, 82, of Lonaconing, died Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Egle Nursing Home, Lonaconing. Born on December 28, 1942, in Lonaconing, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Marabel (Fisher) Haran.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles R. Moran on September 23, 1989, sister-in-law, Dolores Esrey, and nephew, Thomas D. Williams.
Harriet was a graduate of Valley High School class of 1960 and Catherman's Business School. Prior to having her children, Harriet worked at the law office of Carskadon, Gilchrist, and Getty. Then she became a stay-at-home mother for over a decade. As her children became a little older, she began working at the Allegany County Register of Wills Office, which Harriet truly enjoyed. She became Chief Deputy and was able to help many families in Allegany County during difficult times. Harriet retired in 2015 after over 27 years of employment.
Harriet was Catholic and faithfully attended St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church in Lonaconing and in later years, St Joseph Catholic Church in Midland.
Harriet devoted her life to raising her three children. She was a loving mother to Marcy, Molly, and Chuck, teaching them the importance of faith and family. Harriet loved to spend quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also had great times with her special group of friends including the entire Robertson Family, who were like family to her. Anyone who knew Harriet knew she loved to go Marshall's Confectionary to get her beloved vanilla cokes and see her friends. Harriet was also known for making the best chocolate chip cookies. She would often share her recipe of the cookies although they could never be exactly duplicated. Harriet enjoyed going to Bingo with friends, watching game shows, attending country music concerts, and sitting on her front porch. She was fortunate to have attended the 1971 World Series and the 2013 Super Bowl, cheering on the Denver Broncos.
She is survived by her children, Marcy Myers and husband Mike of Westminster, MD, Molly Moran and husband Evan Orndorff of Short Gap, WV and Chuck Moran and wife Melissa of Cumberland, MD; grandchildren, Maggie Myers, Mitchell Myers, Liam Orndorff, Max Myers, Will Moran, Easton Orndorff, Madelyn Moran, Hailey Wade and husband Dan; great-grandchildren, Teagan Wade and Walker Wade; niece, Cindy Williams and great-nephews, Erin Williams and family and Tucker Williams.
