Harriet Hutcheson

Harriet Watkinson Hutcheson, 93, of Lonaconing died Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Egle Nursing and Rehab Center, Lonaconing. Born on June 10, 1925 in Lonaconing she was the daughter of the late John Henry Watkinson and Eva (Shockey) Watkinson.

She was preceded in death by her husband Simeon Howard Hutcheson Jr. on October 6, 1998, a granddaughter Leslie Ann Hutcheson, a sister Josephine Muir and twin nieces Harriet and Harrietta.

Harriet was a graduate of Central High School and spent many years working as a nurse’s aide at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Lonaconing. She was also a member of Good Will Firemen’s Auxiliary and Frostburg American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by two sons Howard Hutcheson and wife Ruth Lee of Kentucky and Alan Hutcheson and wife Amy of Lonaconing; three grandchildren Tyler Hutcheson and wife Shelby, Autumn Symons and husband Charlie and Lacey Hutcheson and Mac Sloan; six great-grandchildren Bryli Symons, Tatum Kelly, Phoebe Hutcheson, Dax and Navy Symons, Olive Hutcheson and a great-grandson Henry on the way; niece Sharon Hadley; nephews John Muir and Charlie Muir and a special friend Milton Fairgrieve.

Family and friends will be received at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funearl home on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Heerak Kim officiating. Interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Egle Nursing and Rehab Center for the excellent care provided to Harriet.
