Gretchen Anna Bobo, 90, of Rockville Street, Lonaconing died Friday, September 26, 2014 at Egle Nursing Home, Lonaconing. Born on November 19, 1923 in Lonaconing she was the daughter of the late, Roland Staup and Grace (Elliott) Staup.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Jean Goynes and Martha Ann Miller and two brothers, Roland Staup and Robert "Bob" Staup.
Gretchen was a lifelong member of Saint Peter's Episcopal Church, Lonaconing. She was the treasure for the church for 25 years and a member of the Women of St. Peter's. She graduated from Central High School and attended Catherman's Business School. She retired from Westvaco Corporation where she worked as a secretary for the commercial superintendents. She was also a member of the Martha Washington Chapter #10 Order of the Eastern Star, Lonaconing.
She is survived by her husband, Herman Bobo; two children, Rhonda Jean Pettit of Charlotte, NC and Deborah Ann Leilich and husband Scott of Victor, WV; two grandchildren, Megan and Scott; one brother, Rev. Thomas P. Staup of Frederick and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at the Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing on Sunday, September 28, 2014 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.. A funeral service will be held at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Lonaconing on Monday, September 29, 2014 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Thomas J. Hudson, OPA officiating. Interment will be held at Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery, Flintstone.
