Goldie Elizabeth Minnicks, 98, of Cumberland, died Friday, January 30, 2015 at the Golden Living Center. Born on July 4, 1916 in Cumberland she was the daughter of the late M. Myers Smiley and Elizabeth J. (Blume) Smiley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Louis Minnicks on May 18, 1985 and her son, Ronald Lee Minnicks who was killed in auto on Goldie's birthday, July 4, 1958.

Goldie was a devote Christian of the Lord Jesus Christ and a member of the Central Grace United Methodist Church. She was part of the United Women of the Church. She retired from the Embassy Theater many years ago where she had been manager. She was also a long time member of the Cumberland Historic Cemetery Organization.

She is survived by two siblings, Calvin Smiley of Michigan and Emma June Eccleton of Hagerstown; a niece, Linda Kann also of Hagerstown; several other nieces and nephews and a cousin, Zelma A. Kelly.

Interment was held at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Cumberland and a graveside prayer service was held by Cumberland Historic Cemetery Organization. Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Midland handled the arrangements.
