Gary Joe Cooper

Gary Joe Cooper, 71, of Seldom Seen Road, Lonaconing and Laurel Lane, Swanton died Monday, October 16, 2023 at UPMC Western Maryland, Cumberland. Born on October 20, 1951 he was the son of the late George “Gary” Cooper and Mary (Timney) Cooper.

Gary was a 1969 graduate of Valley High School and he retired from NBCI, where he worked in the warehouse. He enjoyed his grandchildren and spending time at Deep Creek Lake.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 33 years, Leslie Cooper; his children, Bethany Cooper (Ralph), Erick Alkire (Jen), Corey Alkire (Jen) and Jennifer Rollins (Jason); 11 grandchildren, Carter, Corrine, Mason, Bella “Rilee”, Abby, Emily, Callie, Jase, Kaylien, Trinitie and Lowen; a brother, Tim Cooper and a niece, Kelley Cooper.

Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 from 2-4 PM at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing. A memorial service will immediately follow at 4:00 PM with Rev. Tom Morgan officiating. Inurnment will take place at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills.
