Edith Jones

Edith M. Jones, 92, formerly of Railroad Street, Lonaconing died Monday, September 12, 2011 at Egle Nursing and Rehab Center, Lonaconing. Born November 18, 1918 in Hull, England she was the daughter of the late Arthur Baggley and Mary (Hornby) Baggley.

Edith was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Lonaconing and homemaker most of her life. She was also a life member of George's Creek Ambulance Service.

Along with her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Edward T. Jones on July 29, 1979; one brother, Ernie Baggley and one sister, Elsie Baggley.  Edith was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She is survived by three children, Patricia Getson and husband Edward of Lonaconing, Barry A. Jones and wife Judy of Anaheim, CA and June Kelley and husband John of Lonaconing; five grandchildren, Karen Getson of Lonaconing, Scott Getson of California, MD, Tom Kelley of Northeast, MD, Christopher Jones of Sherman Oaks, CA and Jennifer Wines of San Juan Capistrano, CA and eight great-grandchildren.

Family and Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home P.A. ( www.eichhornmckenzie.com ), Lonaconing on Thursday, September 15, 2011 from 7-9 PM. A Christian Wake service will be held by Father Richard Gray at 8:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, September 16, 2011 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Lonaconing, MD with Father Donald Parson, celebrant. Interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland, MD.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, Lonaconing, MD or Egle Nursing and Rehab Activity Fund at 57 Jackson Street, Lonaconing, MD 21539.
