Doris Lee (Smith) Struck, 94, of North Carolina, died peacefully in her sleep on June 8, 2024 at her residence. Born on July 30, 1929 in Lonaconing, she was the daughter of the late Cecil Smith and Mildren (Cross) Smith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin G. Struck
Doris retired from the library of Frostburg State College. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Lonaconing for over 40 years, where she was part of the choir. She was also a member of the Martha Washington Chapter #10, OES, Lonaconing for over 50 years and the Pythian Sisters Lodge #86 of Lonaconing also for over 50 years.
In 1999 she relocated to North Carolina to be closer to her grandchildren, whom she loved very much. She adored her children and grandchildren; she was a very loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. In her spare time she enjoyed traveling.
She is survived by her 3 children, Carol Lynn Matthews (James), Linda Lou Ashby and Keith A. Struck (Patricia); 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Philos Cemetery, Westernport with Pastor Marjorie Hurder-Buhrman officiating. She will be inurned next to her beloved husband, Edwin. Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing is handling the arrangements.
