Doris Marie Nicol, 64, of Charlestown Road, Lonaconing died Sunday, November 13, 2016 at her residence. Born on October 7, 1952 in Keyser, WV she was the daughter of the late James Paul Cook and Doris (Wilkinson) Cook.
Marie was member of the First United Methodist Church, Lonaconing and a long-time member of the George’s Creek Sorority Angels. A graduate of the Bruce High School class of 1970 she went on to work as a seamstress. Throughout her working career she was employed by Kaufman’s Bridal Shop, Berkowitz and Schwab Sewing Factory.
She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Wayne Nicol; two children, Briana Perry and husband Mickey of Frederick and Andrew Nicol and fiancé Mandi Graham of Frostburg; two grandchildren, Abigayle and Nana’s little girl Aubrey; two sisters Pam Barb and husband Kevin and Phyllis Gentry and husband Jimmy; one brother, Phillip Cook and wife Tammy; sisters-in-law, Yvonne Green, Karen Nicol Clark and special sister-in-law Gayle Kerns who was always there for her and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 from 2-4PM and 7-9PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 1:00PM with Rev. Fred Iser officiating. Interment will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills.
In lieu of flowers the request that donations be made in memory of Marie to the First United Methodist Church at 15 Church Street, Lonaconing, MD 21539 or the WMHS Schwab Family Cancer Center at 12500 Willowbrook Road, Cumberland, MD 21502.
