Donna Virginia McKenzie

Donna Virginia McKenzie passed away on October 7, 2023 at the age of 74 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones in her home.  She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.  Her final hospice days would not have been possible without a very special person and the unconditional love of Doranne.  The special visits, calls and messages from family, friends and special neighbors brought her happiness.

She was born to the late Evelyn Llewellyn on July 17, 1949 in Gilmore, Maryland.   After graduating from high school, Donna met her husband, Marvin. They married in 1969 and this October would be celebrating 54 years.  Together, they had many foster children.  They have one daughter, Marlean (husband David); two grandchildren, Xander and Sloan, and grand-furbabies. Donna is also survived by her five brothers, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. 

Donna loved her family and friends near her home in Maryland and at her favorite campground in Virginia.  She enjoyed music, dancing, campfires, her grandson's sporting events and her granddaughter's baking.  Taking her grandpup on walks and giving her treats made for a special bond. 

A family and friends gathering will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 from 2-4 PM at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing, Maryland.  The final resting place will be at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in LaVale, Maryland and the graveside will be open to visitors on Thursday, October 12th.
