Donald Jean McKenzie, 93, of Detmold Street, Lonaconing, died Tuesday, June 17, 2024 at his residence. Born on October 3, 1931, he was the son of the late Garlitz McKenzie and Evelyn (Dawson) McKenzie.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margie McKenzie on January 3, 2021 and a daughter, Bonnie Holshey on May 9, 2021.
Donald was graduate of Central High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army. After 31 years of employment, he retired from Pittsburgh Plate and Glass. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching sports of all kinds, especially the Baltimore Orioles. A member of several clubs, including the Dans Mt. Volunteers, Shaw’s Gas Station Club, and the Setback Card Club, he enjoyed his time with them all.
He is survived by his daughter, Donna Jean Ryan and husband Russ of Barton; son-in-law, Gary Holshey of Lonaconing; granddaughters, Tara and Jenna Holshey; special Aunt, Shirley Morgan and nephews, David Bogie and wife Tammy and Jim Bogie.
A private graveside service will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
