Denzil Floyd Halbritter Sr., 76, of Main Street, Lonaconing, died June 30, 2026 at his residence. Born on August 3, 1949 in Grafton, WV, he was the son of the late Oakie Wallace Halbritter and Mary Virginia (Brown) Halbritter.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Allen Halbritter, and his beloved canine companion, Sally.
Denzil was a 1967 graduate of Bruce High School and had worked as a truck driver for many years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving in the Vietnam War.
He is survived by four children, Connie Dyche, Shannon Sacco and husband Jimmy, Beth Holly, and Denzil Halbritter Jr.; seven grandchildren, Scott Whetzel Jr. and wife Cary, Jeremy Whetzel, Austin Dudley and wife Mikaylan, Robert Dyche, Dillan Muncy, Roman Holly and Bella Halbritter; eight great-grandchildren, Kashlyn Whetzel, AJ Dudley, Jayce Dudley, Tristyn Whetzel, Jayden Whetzel, Skylar Diehl, Garrett Dyche, and Eli Dyche; one great-great-granddaughter, Emma; two sisters, Nan Ward and husband John, and Rosemary Yutzy; a brother, Brian Halbritter and wife June; sister-in-law, Pam Halbritter, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Interment will be held at Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery, Flintstone on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at 11:00 AM. Military honors will be accorded by the Vietnam Veterans of America Post #172, Cumberland.
