Curtis Johnson

April 14, 1932 — June 1, 2025

Curtis Johnson, 93, of Lower Georges Creek Road, Gilmore, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at Moran Manor, Westernport. Born on April 14, 1932 in Lonaconing, he was the son of the late John Johnson and Ida Mae (Ternent) Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Louise Johnson, a daughter, Tammy Johnson and his siblings, Pearl Alexander, Alice Nightengale, Edna Russell, Mary Crawford, John Johnson Jr., Elmer Johnson, Onis Johnson and Arthur Johnson.

Curtis was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean War. A graduate of Central High School, he retired from Kelly Springfield after 36 years of service. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Midland. He was the best father, displaying unconditional love, hard work ethics, good morals and being very kind and polite to everyone. He was a very good man and he will be greatly missed.

He is survived by two daughters, Sandra Raines and husband Ronnie of Midland and Cindy Broadwater and husband Randy also of Midland; one son, Stan Johnson and wife Betty of Burlington; seven grandchildren, Jason, Julie, Angie, Curtis, Brooke, Kayla and Ronnie Jr.; eighteen great-grandchildren, Luci, Grace, Emma, Kelli, Gavin, Braedin, Jonah, Alayna, Levi, Rylee, Isaac, Aiden, Mason, Lexi, Bryce, Sydney, Finn and Hurley and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and Friends will be received on Monday, June 9, 2025 from 5-8 PM at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Midland. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Seth Wharton officiating. Interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the UPMC WM Hospice Unit who we want to recognize and thank for their wonderful support and care for our Dad, especially Nurse Stephanie. We also want to thank all of Dad's caregivers over the years and most current special caregivers, Carol, Ellie and Tina for the love and wonderful care they gave Dad.
