Clarence “CB” Broadwater, 90, of Bucks Hill Road, Lonaconing, on Wednesday, August 24, 2026 at his home. Born on August 24, 1936 in Garrett County, he was the son of the late Harry Thomas Broadwater and Blanche Genevieve (Beeman) Broadwater.
He was preceded in death by his dearly loved wife, Bonnie Sue Broadwater on July 1, 2020, a brother, Wilbert and wife Eloise Broadwater, and a sister-in-law, Edna and husband Aug Eichhorn. He was also preceded in death by his beloved canine companions, Lady and Princess.
Clarence was a 1955 graduate of Valley High School and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, SSG, serving from 1955-1963. He retired from Westvaco after 37 years of employment and had a home improvement business, CB Broadwater and Son.
CB was a dedicated member of Good Will Fire Company No. 1, joining in 2003, he was a proud advisor to the Junior Firefighters, served as Past President during 2015, 2016, and 2017 and was a current Trustee. He was also a member of Allegany Garrett Counties Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association and Past President for 2008-2009, 2012-2013, and 2014-2015. He earned many awards during his time as a volunteer firefighter; he was a valued and beloved member of his community. His was most recently presented the Robert H. Shimer Public Service Award by the County Commissioners.
He is survived by his children, Alexa Broadwater Moses of Midland, and Clarence Leslie Broadwater and wife Beth Ann of Lonaconing; three granddaughters, Sarah Moses of Baltimore, Laura Moses and fiancé Bryan Adams of Flintstone, and Kendall Mellott and husband Justin of Little Orleans; two great-grandchildren, Kali Adams and Memphis Mellott; two brothers, Leo Broadwater and wife Michelle, and Eugene Broadwater and wife Peggy; son-in-law, Bob Moses, his canine companion, Angel, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, August 27, 2026 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, August 28, 2026 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Thomas Morgan and Stefanie Adams, officiating. Interment will be privately held at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills.
