Charles L. Buskirk, 69, of Allegany Street, Lonaconing died Monday, August 15, 2016 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland. Born on July 19, 1947 he was the son of the late John Buskirk and Birdie (Snyder) Buskirk.
Charles served in the U.S. Army. He was a lifetime member of the former Alvin C. Neat Post #5280 V.F.W., Lonaconing, MD. He was had worked as the maintenance man for St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Westernport. He played guitar in various local bands including Sundowners, Back Street and 40 West.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sharon Buskirk; one son, John James Buskirk and Mary of Frostburg; five grandchildren, Larissa Jae Buskirk, Scarlet Eva Williams, Nicholas Robert Williams, Adrienne Betty Williams and Angelica Grace Williams; one great-grandson, Trenton Thomas Wright; four sisters, Josephine Booth, Dorothy Loar and David, Carol McKenzie and Arthur and Wilda McKenzie and Louie; several nieces and nephews and his beloved puppies, Mickey and Katie.
Services will be privately held at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A, Lonaconing with Deacon Harold Bradley officiating.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to assist with funeral expenses c/o Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., 8 East Main Street, Lonaconing, MD 21539.
