Carol Rae (Wilhelm) Beeman, 74, of Walnut Street, Barton passed away on Monday, June 9, 2014 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland. Born on February 16, 1940 she was the daughter of the late Scott Olin Wilhelm and Laura Ellen (Durst) Wilhelm.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Marilyn Wilhelm Muir, Larry Wilhelm and Beverly Wilhelm Moler. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Edward DeShong.
Carol worked at Clary Street Developmental Center, Keyser, WV for many years. She later worked for Allegany County School Systems in the cafeteria. She enjoyed her family, shopping and dining out.
She is survived by her husband, William Beeman; one child, Rhonda DeShong of Barton; two grandchildren, Jennifer Stevens and husband Nathan of Frostburg and Destiny Creegan and boyfriend Michael Buskirk also of Frostburg. Carol also has four great-grandchildren, Ella and Ava Stevens and Anderson and Creegan Buskirk.
Carol is also survived by her brothers, Wendell (Scotty) Wilhelm of Fresno, CA, Roger Wilhelm and wife Sharon of Lonaconing, Darrell Wilhelm and wife Carolyn of Boonsboro, MD, Stephen Wilhelm and wife Patty of Fredericksburg, VA and Michael Wilhelm and girlfriend Karen Getson of Lonaconing and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at the Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing on Thursday, June 12, 2014 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, June 13, 2014 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Fred Iser officiating. Interment will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills.
