Anna Mae (Truly) Alexander, 86, of Midland, passed away at Egle Nursing and Rehab Center in Lonaconing, Maryland on December 28, 2025.
Born on February 18, 1939, Anna was the daughter of the late William and Lula Bell (Miller) Truly. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Isabel (Issy) Jones, Betty Lou Simpson, and Phyllis McCreary; and two brothers, William (Gumleg) J. Truly and Edward (Sap) Truly.
Anna was a graduate of the Beall High School class of 1956. Anna graduated from Catherman Business School and went on to work at Frostburg State Teachers College/Frostburg State University as the administrative assistant for the Social Work and Sociology Departments for 29 years, making many friends and touching numerous lives. She retired in 2005. She enjoyed cooking, making crafts, spending time with family and was an avid Elvis Presley memorabilia collector. Her laugh could brighten up any room.
Anna is survived by her beloved son and center of her world, Neil Alexander Jr. of Midland, and two grandsons, Neil Alexander III and wife Amy Albright, and Nathan Alexander. She leaves behind loving nieces and nephews who were always there for her when she needed them.
Family and friends will be received at the Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A. in Midland, Maryland from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, January 2, 2026 to celebrate Anna’s life. A funeral service will be held afterwards with Pastor Shawn Shumaker officiating, followed by interment where she will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park in Cumberland, MD. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Anna’s memory may do so by making contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association - Greater Maryland Chapter, online at https://www.alz.org.
